The longest day of the year, where Dusk meets Dawn
23th June, also Land Defence day, had a military parade, hosted by Defence League. This year it was air parade (showing off almost everything we have, like An-2s and Mi-8s).
Previously we were visited by Royal Navy flagship, HMS Illustrious (carrier). This day we had visitors from different places - french and americans:

Mirage 2000-5, a pair made an overflight, as the NATO umbrella is currently provided by French Air Force. They did dwarf everything else shown, showing the real power of high tech stuff and jet engine.

USS Mahan, AEGIS destroyer, visiting the Port of Tallinn. Sad I wasn't able to see&visit her myself - she was opened to the public for few hours.
In Tartu our KL HQ hosted a small event in public park, showing off equipment and otherwise boosting morale and patriotism. My kid was so fascinated so he tried few stunts, like trying to hi-jack a police van and using the radio on it (I'm sure he wanted to call all available units to our location). Unfortunately his legs were too short so the police force kept their van.
So when the police van didn't work out he wanted to drive off with the army jeep, catch being that it had a show of Things That Go Bang on the trailer. Mines and grenades. He does know what's fun.
Again, he was too short to reach into it. World is so cruel, denying all things that's fun.

And the great bonfire, a traditional thing. Our chief torched it and the party could begin. Only sad thing is that I couldn't go to sauna.
I have been a bit short of time lately, so when I get time I'll post what I've been up to in few months, like training.
